On the heels of the recent immigrants' rights march, and the arrest and detention of Herndon Minuteman Tyler Froatz (5320 8th St. NW, Apt. 107 Washington DC 20011) for assaulting and threatening immigrants, anti-immigrant racists are returning to Washington, DC. Minutemen and other anti-immigrant racist organizations from around the country will be coming to DC for 3 days in June to take part in Let Freedom Ring's (http://www.lframerica.com/march2.html) “March for America: Take America Back.” From June 14-16, hundreds of xenophobes are expected to descend on DC.

Reveling in nationalism, Minutemen and anti-immigrant organizations from around the country will begin their racist, hateful days of action on June 14th in commemoration of 'Flag Day'. From 11am to 5pm, at a location to be announced, the Minutemen will hold a vigil entitled: "Operation Body Count/Buck Stops Here". There, the Minutemen are expected to read, “the names of slain victims of illegal aliens”, and to, “pay tribute to Border Patrol agents”, who they consider to be,“America's POW in this fight for our country, and sacrificial lambs to open the door to Amnesty.” The organizers of this event are requesting that only American flags be present at this event.

Day 2 of the Minuteman days of action will see them bring their blind nationalist messages of, “No Amnesty, Yes Code of Law”, and, "All American Day/Stop The North American Union.” From 10AM to 2PM at a location to be announced, the Minutemen and 'friends' will stage a rally and protest against any steps toward legalization for undocumented immigrants. Speakers will include Bill Still, Margaret Meade, Dan Sheehy (author of “Fighting Immigration Anarchy”), Kathryn Albrecht (author of “Spychips”), Virgil Goode (the Islamophobic US Congressman from Virginia), Andrew Gause (Monetary Historian and Author), and Dr. Daneen Peterson.

The days of action will conclude on Saturday, June 16th with a march from 1pm to 5pm (at a yet to be disclosed location) with the message, “No Amnesty. Yes Code of Law.” Hundreds of anti-immigrant individuals (http://dc.indymedia.org/mod/comments/display/139003/index.php) are expected to turn out for this event in the wake of the recent Congressional immigration bill. The rally will bring out the Minutemen's heavy hitters in hate including: Chris Simcox - MCDC Founder; Rick Biesada - Chicago Minutemen; Don Goldwater - AZ Minutemen; Ruth Heindricks – MINNSIR; Helen Schnell - Private Citizen; Miguel Cruz - You Don't Speak For Me; Chelene Nightingale - Save Our State; Ted Hayes - Crispus Attack Brigade Civil Rights Leader; John Martin – Musician; Peter Gadiel - 911 Families For A Secure America; Michelle Dallacroce - Mothers Against Illegal Immigrants; Jason Mrochek - Fire Coalition; Jeff Lewis - Fire Coalition; Carl Two Feathers Whitaker - TN Politician; Scott Smith - Author, Lawyer.

We cannot let these racists spew their anti-immigrant rhetoric unchallenged. We call on all anti-racists from around the region to join together and confront the Minutemen from June 14-16. We will post more information as it becomes available. Others should feel free to do so as well.
