During a press conference on the steps of the Wilson building this week, Bill Harrod, a former manager with Check N' Go stated that he was sent out to black neighborhoods to market to minorities and sent to a black church to solicit the testimony (and payoff) of a minister. I have been able to verify that Mr. Harrod worked at the Check N Go office at 3182 Bladensburg Rd NE. This is the same office that had been protested several times before and the same one where the manager was attacked because of his seedy business practices. When asked for comment from the office I was told, "We can't comment for Mr. Moore" and given an number for a company hack. When I called Richard Moore, the manager I was told by him, "No Comment" and a number to call. Bill Harrod (a black guy) stated that Mr. Moore ( a white guy), sent him into the black neighborhoods to flier and market because he was too scared to go there himself. Additionally, a member of Unity Baptist Church on Bladensburg Rd NE, stated to me that Bill Harrod attended some services at this church, and even presented the church with $800. This money was prearranged for the testimony of Reverend McNeil by Check N Go. After having conversations with the Loan Shark lobbyist, Reverend McNeil was to testify for Check N Go before the council. At the last minute he pulled out at the council meeting because he had a change of conscious.
